THE KOPPEL PROJECT 2020

Site-responsive installation during artist in residence at The Koppel Project Campus at the former Central Saint Martins building at Southampton Row. The building was in the process of being part-demolished and transformed into a luxury hotel. Over 3 months Marie-Louise gathered, reused, and reworked the discarded architectural components and other salvaged materials to create a body of work using reductive geometric forms, considerations of surface, spatial relations, and seminal materials of industry, to examine a machine made modernity, notions of debris, and unceasing cycles of destruction/renewal
