Marie-Louise Jones is a London-based artist examining intersections of nature-culture, organic-artifice to explore materiality-being. Predominantly working with sculpture and installation she uses various methodologies in the production of work. Gathering samples of the material fabric of the surrounding environment, whether physical (collecting objects), or non-physical (digital imagery or surface data), she employs a range of techniques from traditional sculpting mediums to new technologies reimagining objects to explore relationships between landscape, image, form and material.
A current MA Fine Art student at Central Saint Martins, she is recipient of the prestigious Mona Hatoum Scholarship 2020. Exhibitions include: Tate Modern, Tate Exchange 2020, Westminster Central Hall 2019, Museum of Contemporary Art Oaxaca, Mexico (MACO) 2019. Selected as winning AER candidate for LabVerde Residency in the Amazon Rainforest 2021, she has received Arts Council England Awards 2018, and invited as Resident Artist for Dia Projects in Ho Chi Minh City, 2018.
