My practice examines contrast and seemingly opposing forces. The duality of existence, the variation within a totality, within the whole. Exploring matter and material practices I take inspiration from machine-made environments in contrast to the wild, organic landscape. Using new technologies hybridised with traditional techniques to contemplate speculative futures whilst thinking about material pasts
Thinking about ecologies and economies with current projects I am attempting to use negative space as form to create structures that occupy the largest area using the minimal amount of material. All as part of an explorative journey through essence, form, and materiality to understand the construction of the physical world that creates our embodied experience Blending elements of art, science, and design within my work it is an interest in world-building that leads me to be inspired by the technological, industrial and architectural. My purpose is to make a meaningful contribution towards healing the ecology of the earth, to live more in balance with our host, knowing that every being (human and more-than-human) is an integral part of the universe and a participant in its evolution |
